How to Declutter Your Home?

No one likes a messy home. A clean home is welcoming and has a certain positive vibe to it. Decluttering your home can be a very demanding task. It requires a lot of time and energy, but the end result makes you say, ‘it was worth it.’ In this  article, we will be discussing 4 different methods for easily decluttering your home.

Sorting

Categorising the items in your home can be a very beneficial method. You can easily sort your belongings by categorising them in the following piles: keep, donate, throw away, and recycle.

In this way, you can easily have an idea of where each item belongs and declutter accordingly. This method is also helpful in minimising your trash as it is more environmentally friendly with a higher focus on recycling and upcycling. Moreover, the items can also be donated to local charities, which means you are helping a good cause.

Getting Rid of Clothes

There are a bunch of clothes in our closets and wardrobes that we never wear. The problem is that we don’t seem to realise it. This results in a huge clutter of clothes. There is one simple method to get rid of the clothes that are not worn by you in the space of a year.

Organise your clothes in a way that their hangers all face the same way. Then, when you pull out a shirt or a skirt to wear, simply turn the directions of those hangers in your wardrobe. In this way, at the end of the year, you can easily get rid of the clothes where the hangers are still in the same direction. These are the ones that you didn’t wear for over a year. To declutter and organise, donate these items.

KonMari Method

One of the easiest ways for decluttering your home is the famous KonMari method by Marie Kondo. Only keep those things in your home that bring joy to you. Get rid of all the other stuff. This can be a method which can take a longer time to fully complete, but the end result will be amazing. In this method, simply ask one small question to yourself, i.e. does it bring joy to me? If the answer is negative, then simply throw away, recycle or donate that item.

Cleaning

After you have successfully de-cluttered your home, next comes the cleaning part. Your home will not be considered completely decluttered until and unless you perform the cleaning.

For heavier items which you need to recycle, hiring a rubbish removal company is the best thing to do. They will take away all the rubbish and your home will be as clean as new.
